Hi, I applied for children's and mental health nursing and have done 3/5 interviews so far. ( with 2 offers, and waiting to hear back from 1)

Most unis send out an email around a week before with things to go over that might be a video to watch or just some general tips.
I believe they change the questions for each person but I would recommend going over the 6Cs of nursing, NMC code and the NHS constitution (not as important imo but good to bring up). Also why you want to be a nurse and what you think the role of a nurse is.
At the end of any interview they are likely to ask do you have any questions, so ideally have something in mind to ask.
If you make a mistake or aren't sure on something just say your not sure and try not to be thrown off.

Good luck!

Hiya!

I am a second year childs nurse student. I did my interview in December 2022.

My top tip is to prepare your own questions. At the end of the interview they ask if you have any questions, if you say yes and ask a few questions then it shows that you are interested and committed.

They will most likely ask why you chose childrens nursing over adults nursing, talk about family-centred care in your answer.

Make sure you mention the 6 C's of nursing - https://www.england.nhs.uk/6cs/wp-content/uploads/sites/25/2015/03/introducing-the-6cs.pdf

First impressions count, what you say in the first few minutes matter the most so make sure you get all the important things in first.

Do not rush, take your time and be confident in yourself. You can do it!

Best of luck,
Jess - Digital Student Ambassador at Anglia Ruskin University
