Thanks for making the thread! There is one just for Econ Research but didn't seem like they were up for opening it wider so will just follow this one.

Which programme are you applying for?

Well, if you give us more details, we could maybe make some hypotheses. 80% does seem quite high if you are going to any good uni and you are already averaging something like a first.

Do you know where you rank in your class ? In percentile, if you want.

I don't, it's not information that is released, I think I got a good recommendation from my supervisor though

It was probably mentioned in the recommendation as they usually put it there if they know it. You could maybe ask your personal tutor if you want to know, but you can also make a guess based on your grade and the number of people getting a first in your course/uni. Like 70% might be top 20/25%, 75% could be top 10% (for many programmes, but not all). Or maybe they just don't rate your uni ahah (that's a joke).

And if you got an offer, the recommendation wasn't bad at least. I'm just trying to find a reason for it bc you seem to wonder about it, and 80% does seem uncommon.

Nope! Still on under review by department ☹️ When did you submit your application? I had to leave mine pretty close to the deadline because of references so was early December

Isn't that what it has always said?
Mine says "Status: Decision Pending - Your application is currently under review." I submitted my application a few days before the deadline so I assume they will get to my application quite late.
