Brighton university diversity

My top university choice at the moment is the university of Brighton. But my main concern is the lack of diversity- it’s not that I don’t want to connect with anyone outside of my religion. I’m more than happy to, it’s that I honestly fear the lack of inclusivity that I might face when studying in Brighton. I do know many of the people there seem to be accepting as there is a large queer community which historically have been more accepting towards marginalized groups. Which gives me some form of comfort. But I just worry that there is a lack of Muslims in the university & city and people of color. Someone help lol

Hi! I'm a current student at Brighton and i thought i could give you some info about the diversity here.
Statistics wise:
In Brighton as a whole "One in five residents is Black or minority ethnic and identifies as non-white british" source
At Brighton university, 21% of students identified as non-white source

We also have an Islamic Society which hosts many events and support for Muslim students.

There are 3 Mosques in the Brighton and Hove area, all which are easily accessible by bus or a short train. There is also a Brighton and Hove Muslim Forum.

We also have prayer rooms in 2 of our campuses

The university also has a #NEVEROK policy and a disclosing system in case you are discriminated against.

In my experience the uni is very inclusive, my classmates and my friends come from so many different countries, cultures and backgrounds.

I hope this helps you, If you have any more questions feel free to ask!
