BU what accomodation?

Hi, i'm going to Bournemouth uni next year but I am so stuck on what accommodation to pick. I'm between Dorchester , Lyme Regis and Cranborne (premium room because a bigger bed is a must.). I want an accom that's nice to live in but is also sociable / flat parties / etc. Can any students pleaseee tell me which one to pick and what they are like socially because I honestly don't have a clue. Thank you!!
Hi @Smellbrntt - so exciting that you're going to be joining us at BU! You might find it helpful to have a chat with some of our current students to see what their thoughts are on each of our accommodation options/what will suit your needs best.

You can reach them via Unibuddy here: https://www.bournemouth.ac.uk/unibuddy

You can also hear from current students on the Student Blog, particularly this vlog.

Hi @Smellbrntt,

Great to hear you'll be joining us in Bournemouth next year!
I'm Q, a 4th Year Media Production student at Bournemouth University (BU).

Whilst I didn't personally live in either of those halls, I have spent time with many students who have.
One of the halls I can recommend is Lyme Regis, as it is still on the main strip near Chesil, Bailey Point, and Cranbourne House, so you can easily get to other halls and the town centre, but also they have a lovely common room with a kitchen. When I was in my first year a lot of the ResLifeBU events happened in Lyme Regis, so it is nice to be able to pop downstairs.
If you're also looking into the amenities, Dorchester House has a screen for watching movies, as well as a gym. Whilst it is slightly further out than the other accomodations, you can still walk between them in less than 10 minutes.
Sadly I don't know much about life in Cranbourne, but it is closer to the Bournemouth Gateway Building, so if you ever need to pop over in a hurry, you can walk there in less than 2 minutes.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions.
