Physical geography at uni

I'm currently at uni doing civil engineering but I'm kinda wishing I had done physical geography at times. I'm considering switching to a BSc in Physical Geography this summer.
For a levels I did maths, physics and geography. The reason why I didn't do physical geography initially was I wanted a more scientific course.
Is there anyone else who had difficutly deciding between physical geography and a more pure science at uni eg geology, geophysics. How did you eventually come to a decision?
I feel like i really enjoyed the physical side of a level geography especially the carbon/water cycles. I'm concerned though about getting a job with a geography degree.

Geography is one of the degrees with highest employability, there’s lots of prospects despite the ‘general assumption’ of a Geography degree. If you really want to switch, you should talk to your Director of Studies and other relevant people.

Yeah for sure, best to be informed. Perhaps read through the physical geography modules too, see if catch-up would be somewhat reasonable and also, if it’d be interesting to you. You want to move relatively quickly though given the time already into the course.

I mean I would re-start my undergrad this September since SFE funds an extra year. It's too late to change this far in the year, I tried to change in early November but I was too late.

Hi @Banana_99
Geography is a really well rounded subject that covers lots of skills from report writing, fieldwork, statistical, computing and presentation skills which makes it a highly employable degree. I would recommend looking at the modules covered by the physical geography course at your university to see if these match what you are intrested in.
Hope this helps!
