Yes, it's in the spec and the kind of thing they can ask to be difficult. Use the mark scheme as a guide (and if it's three marks, make three points). If in doubt, write a relevant equation down.

It's just an application question - they talk about cyclotrons but essentially you don't need any background knowledge on them. That question is just a basic radioactivity question...
