Hi @jamesedmonds28 ,

I don't do this course myself, however I thought I could tell you a little bit about what it has been like for me studying at Sheffield Hallam as I have been here for a few years now.

The main thing that I have liked about being here is that it really feels like a community and everyone is very welcoming and friendly. All of the tutors are really supportive and they will help you out whenever you need it.

You also get access to lots of support while you are here - you will have access to three support advisors - an employability advisor, an academic advisor and a student support advisor so whenever you need anything there is also someone to ask and someone who will be available to help you out.

In terms of Sheffield in general, I like that the campuses are so close to the city centre and train station. There is lots to do in Sheffield - nice restaurants, good shops and lots of fun places to go out too!

We also have a variety of nice accommodation for our students to choose from too which you can look at here: https://www.shu.ac.uk/study-here/accommodation
They are all nice and most have an ensuite too.

Sheffield is a very affordable city which makes it good for students. There are lots of students here so it is always lively and there is always lots to do!

We also have lots of societies which are fun and you can look at these here: https://www.hallamstudentsunion.com/opportunities/societies/

I would recommend if you are stuck between the two to go to an open day for each! We have our applicant open days coming up in February, March and April and you can book onto these here: https://www.shu.ac.uk/visit-us/undergraduate-applicant-open-days

We are also on the Ambassador Platform if you wanted to speak to any of our other students too! https://www.shu.ac.uk/study-here/student-chat

I hope some of this helps,

Lucy -SHU student ambassador 🙂
