If you want to do Data Science, I think it would be really beneficial if you take Comp Sci for your AS levels. Hope that helps Xx

I think so as well but the thing is i only have till june and in the high school i used to go to didnt have computer related subjects. I have high amount of information about computers because i like them and i like fix mine all the time but i dont have enought knowledge of coding. So i am not sure if i can learn it scratch in 6 months.

Do you have any other subject recommendations that are math related and easy.

If you have good knowledge of computers, I would say comp sci wouldn't be that big of a problem for you. Idk which exam board you're doing, but I did AS CIE comp sci before I dropped it, and it was decently easy. The coding part is just for the paper 4 practicals, and you can test your code out to make sure you do what the question asks correctly. Or you can do ICT. I took a quick look of the syllabus for CIE A level ICT and it seems relevantly easy for you as you already has high knowledge of ICT

Hi @KemalA!

Definitely agree with BraveEagle here; if you're not confident in your coding knowledge but have a good general knowledge of computers, IT/ICT would be an ideal A-Level for you to choose. It'll relate well to your background in maths and your future plans to study Data Science, and with enough effort and focus it could fit into your six-month timeframe.

Best of luck with your A-Levels!

I checked some IT past papers and it seems easier than computer science but i need to call my exam center and learn if they do IT as an writable exam

Thanks guys!!!

Hi there,

Some great advice already, and its great to hear you're following your interest in computers outside school, this is great experience and would be good to include in your personal statement.

If your school offer it, have you considered Further Maths? I don't think any A level is 'easy', but if you're already doing maths and enjoy it then this might be one you may like? Besides that, any mathematical or stats subject (such as Biology, Chem, Economics or Statistics) is likely to benefit you.

I hope this helps, best of luck 🙂

Hi,
I hope you are well!😊

Data Science sounds really interesting!

It's great to see that you're passionate about computers, and have a good knowledge about them prior to even studying about them! Your interest in computers would be a great starting point for your personal statement- I'm sure that whichever universities you apply to will be looking for driven students who have a passion for their subjects!😊

It's also great that you're considering studying at Kent in the future too! Let me know if you have any questions now or down the line about studying at university🙂

You've had some great advice already, which I totally agree with! Studying an IT or ICT A-level would be a great idea, as this will give you some foundation knowledge before starting at university🙂 While I study Social Science, having some foundation knowledge from A-levels definitely helped me during university😊

I hope this helps!
Best of luck with your exams and studies!😊🍀

Best wishes,
Josie
