Acknowledgment emails

I applied 2 weeks ago and still haven’t got an acknowledgment email from LSE or SOAS.. is that normal? There’s no way my application has been ‘lost’, right?

Hi there!

It’s completely understandable to feel a bit anxious about not receiving an acknowledgment email yet. In most cases, universities like LSE and SOAS can take a couple of weeks (or sometimes longer) to send acknowledgments, especially during busy application periods.

If you’ve applied through UCAS, rest assured that as long as your application shows as “submitted” in your UCAS account, it’s been successfully forwarded to the universities.

However, if you’re concerned, you could:

Check your spam or junk email folder, as acknowledgment emails sometimes end up there.

Contact the admissions offices of LSE and SOAS directly to confirm they’ve received your application.

Don’t worry too much—this is likely just a normal delay. Let me know if you need help finding the contact details for their admissions teams!

Best of luck with your application! 😊

Yes! Thanks very much. My UCAS is all normal so I’m not too worried now. I was just a bit panicky because my friend who applied to LSE the same day as me got her acknowledgment straight away.

Some Unis do not send acknowledgement emails, so don't worry.

Hi there,

Acknowledgment emails are typically sent out within a few days of applying, so it’s worth double-checking your spam or junk folder. Also, log in to UCAS to confirm that your application was successfully submitted and shows as "sent."
If everything looks fine on UCAS and you still haven’t received an email, feel free to send me your UCAS ID number, and I’ll check the status of your application for you. Don’t worry—applications aren’t usually ‘lost,’ and we’ll make sure it’s all sorted!

Best of luck with your application!
