Student Finance Enquiry

I have a bit of an odd situation… I’m living with my grandfather and have been since September 2021. He hasn’t got any income as he has been living off pension, therefore what do I submit when beginning my application for the maintenance loan and student finance for the next academic year? From April 2025, I will also be living on my own in a flat, will this have any impact on my application and entitlement?
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Yes I’m 21, 22 by the time my course starts. I’ve been paying rent to my grandfather cash each month, other than that, I don’t pay anything else to him

If you're under 25 then we don't class you as independent unless you have self supported for 3 years before the start of the course. If you haven't self supported for 3 years, then we would require your parents income details to support the application for the means tested finance. We can't use another family members income.
