Physiotherapy / prosthetics and orthotics

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anybody has been in a similar boat, or if there are official university representatives on here who can advise.
I am interested in studying physiotherapy or prosthetics and orthotics. However, my A- Levels are in French, Spanish, History and English Literature. My degree is in French and Spanish. I have been a languages teacher for 13 years. I have GCSEs from A*-B, including Maths and Science, but those are my only qualifications in those subjects. Has anyone been in a similar position - ie holds a degree and has worked for years - and been given offers? I have strong personal reasons (family members and me) for wanting to study physiotherapy or prosthetics and orthotics, so motivation is strong to do the courses.
Thank you

Hey, :hello:

That is great that you want to study Physiotherapy or Prosthetics and Orthotics.

As you already hold a degree i would contact admissions at the different universities that you would want to study at.

They will be able to give you the correct information on your next steps.

Alternatively, i would recommend that you attend open events at a variety of different universities. You can speak to the admissions department, the lecturers and current students to determine what course and uni is right for you.

I hope this helps and good luck!

Hey! That's awesome you're interested in studying physiotherapy ◡̈. I know that some schools will take applicants who don't have a sports science/biology background, as long as they can show they have some sort of experience working with patients or in a healthcare setting (or just in an environment that they can connect to physiotherapy practice). I would definitely encourage you to reach out to schools and talk to advisors there! Hope this helps ◡̈.
