Uni offers

Hello!I am in year 13 and in November put my application in for Newcastle University to study Food business management and marketing. However I have gotten all of my offers back expect Newcastle! With Newcastle being my first choice uni I’m really worried I might not have gotten in. Just wondering if anyone else has experience this or if it’s just me being a bit impatient! With the deadline still being open, I’m hopeful my course is just waiting for the deadline to close as when visiting Newcastle, I loved it so much and would love to be a student there in September! Hi!

Don't feel worried, it's likely you're more scared about not getting into Newcastle since it's your first choice so you're probably assuming the worst case scenario.

Some universities and courses prefer to wait until after a certain deadline to make decisions: something called Equal Consideration, they may find it fairer to compare applications that way.

Worst case scenario if you didn't get in, you could probably try again through clearing in August on results day 🙂

Hey I'm applying to Newcastle as well (and it's my first choice) and still waiting. I do think that they might be waiting for the deadline, especially for my course as there are only 20 places!

I'm experiencing the same problem!

I applied in November and I have not received a decision yet. However, I know a few people who have applied for the same course as me (applying during December) and received a decision within 24 hours.

There is no issue with my grades either! I just want to know so I can make a decision, especially as Newcastle is my first choice. It is so disheartening when I hear other people talking about their offer
Hi @Olive - cut, Anonymous and @hunniexo,

We do try to process applications as quickly as we can. Please be aware that we receive a large volume of applications, and each application is considered individually. As such, there is no specific timescale that we respond within.

For some of our courses, an interview or portfolio may be required as part of our decision-making process. If this is the case for the course that you have applied for, we will be in touch shortly for more information.

However, all applicants who apply before/on the UCAS equal consideration deadline at 18:00 on Wednesday 29 January 2025 will receive a decision by Wednesday 14 May 2025.

If you would like an update on your application, please fill in our enquiry form and we will be happy to help 🙂
