Hello, I have an offer from Bristol for History and I am very much considering firming it. My only concern is previously when looking at their optional modules etc. they seemed quite limited and like there were mandatory medieval etc. modules.
I know this is definitely certain in first year which I don't mind, I'd like to branch out definitely and I don't mind doing an optional module in More older history in Year 2 or 3 either but my main passion is for more modern and political history. Are you able to balance it out so it's like 90% this and does the choice become broader as you go on?
As well as, are there a lot of options for optional modules as others because I'm very interested in studying Maoism and Communism in China but didn't see it as an option last time I looked. I would never make my decision of one module but its more the range.
I did not expect this to be this long but while I'm at it. How often do lectures and seminars happen? because I know it's hefty independent study but i'd like the taught to be of quality??
thanks if you've gotten this far, 😭!
