Is UoY lenient with grades eg if my offer is AAA and I get AAB is there still a chance I’ll get in?

Hi there,

@University of York will have to confirm for their individual institution, but generally when unis give you an offer then that is what they are looking for, and so I'd try your best to aim for that AAA if possible!

If you do end up with an AAB on results day (which are by no means bad grades!) then there could be a possibility they will have made the decision to accept you, but this is by no means a guarantee.

I would aim for your AAA if you can, but if you are not sure about anything then I would contact their admissions team.

I hope this helps and wishing you the best of luck!

Hi @Elynch57273,
It's great to hear you've applied to join us at York!

We are happy to confirm that we do consider applicants who have narrowly missed the conditions of their offers.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that applicants who miss the conditions of their offers will be accepted. Most UK results will not be published until mid-August and it is at this time when a final decision will be made on your results. At this time we will know how many students have met the conditions of their offer and how many places are available.

Let us know if there's anything else we can help with.
Thanks,
Bea

If you do end up with an AAB on results day (which are by no means bad grades!) then make sure you have York's number to hand - if you ring them up then they might be able to offer you some advice on whether or not they can still consider you, but this is by no means a guarantee.

Please DO NOT phone any University to 'check' on Results Day!.

Our decisions will have been made days before this and you will see what this is once UCAS reopens on Results Day morning. Phoning just wastes everyone's time and clogs the lines. Whatever the University's decision is, just accept it and move on.
