History of art UCL

Hi i was thinking about applying for History of art. So far i’ve chosen bristol, Leeds, UEA and UCL. I need one more choice and i wondered if anyone had any suggestions preferably more south england so i can stay close to home. I was also wondering if anyone had any insight into UCL? i wanted to apply there my grades are A*A*B with an A in Epq. i get conditional offer of ABC at UCL but i don’t do any essay subjects? i do maths physics and art. their website isn’t clear and i wondered if anyone could let me know if it’s still worth applying?

Hi there,

It’s fantastic that you’re considering UEA for History of Art! The university offers a supportive and dynamic environment for studying arts and humanities. The History of Art course at UEA is designed to inspire creativity and critical thinking, allowing you to explore a diverse range of topics from different time periods and cultures. UEA’s Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts is an incredible resource and provides students with unique opportunities to engage directly with art collections and exhibitions, right on campus.

Norwich is a beautiful city with a rich artistic heritage and a thriving cultural scene, making it an ideal backdrop for studying History of Art. The campus itself fosters a welcoming community, with excellent facilities and plenty of spaces to connect with like-minded students. Plus, the teaching staff are passionate and knowledgeable, creating an engaging and supportive academic experience.

If you’d like to know more about life at UEA or the course specifics, feel free to reach out! It’s an exciting step, and UEA could be the perfect place to explore your passion for art history. 😊

Best,
Daniel

Have you considered the Courtauld? They are the history of art specialist institution and arguably one of the strongest departments in that area in the UK. While best known for their MA programme they also have a BA programme

The Courtauld is the obvious choice. The BA History of Art at the Courtauld is infinitely better than the BA History of Art at UCL!
