Hi everyone!
My name's Jade, I am a content creator and student at university of Staffordshire, I am currently studying sports therapy, in my second year and absolutely love it!. I wanted to share my aspirations here and share how the uni have supported me with this. I wondered if anyone would share with me there plans and goals at uni too? And how there university has helped them so far?.
Firstly, I am an older student (29) :3 and I had a baby at a young age so I didn't go to uni straight after college like my friends did. So, when my baby was old enough to go to nursery I decided to try education again, however I didn't really have ucas points or anything so I had to do college again first. After completing a couple years there I chose university of Staffordshire because at the time it was closest to me and with having a family I couldn't travel far for education. However, it was literally the best decision I ever made and has completely changed my life so far😂.
I chose sports therapy because I got into fitness and overall health and wellbeing pretty quickly, it was just a sudden interest of mine as I got older I suppose. My first year taught me a lot about myself and I learnt that I am very good at certain things with in the sports department and sports therapy and I have 2 career paths in mind when considering my options!. I will go into a masters after my degree, either in research in sports or physiotherapy, because I am considering either being a sports lecturer or obviously a physiotherapist. So far all my lecturers have been supportive and have shared with me there path way into teaching/lecturing which has been motivating. Their continued positive feedback and support for myself has given me tones of confidence and I truly do believe that I will accomplish that dream job I want so badly 😊.
I have had wonderful job opportunities so far at university of Staffordshire too, this has also given me confidence and I mean me now with in 3 years of uni...HUGE difference in myself and how I carry myself. I used to be very reserved, nervous and anxious about everything, I was brought up being told I would never amount to anything by literally everyone for pretty much my whole life (having a kid made others think I was never going to be successful as well for some reason lol). However university of Staffordshire has made me realize that actually they were wrong and I have a lot of potential, they have great well being officers and advisors that have helped me through things, especially the first 2 years of uni, it was hard at first to adjust to the changes and I mean I really did push myself out of my comfort zone at that point in my life.
Anyway, I know my future is in good hands right now because not only do I FINALLY believe in myself and my capabilities 😂 but I have the best support I could from what I class now as my second home (Uniofstaffs).
Please feel free to share your career goals and experiences with your uni 👇! I would love to hear your stories 😊.
Thank you!
