Will SFE fund my second degree?

I studied a BA in Spanish and international media and communications as my undergraduate.

However I have now realised I really want to be a dietitian and the only way I can do so is by studying a second undergraduate degree in Dietetics. I was just wondering will this be funded by SFE as I know they fund certain healthcare degrees as a second undergraduate degree. But unsure if this would apply to my situation?

Thanks for any help

Hi Elyse,

Can you confirm the course name and university you wish to study this and we can check this on system? When are you hoping to start this course? How long would the course be for?

Thanks,
Claire

Hi Claire,

Leeds Beckett university, Bsc Hons Dietetics course, it is 3 years long. I need to get my access to HE in science first so I would be looking at a Sept 2026 start date.

Thanks for your help

Hi Elyse,

Dietetics is an exception course as long as you're not already registered in this field. Thanks, Jason

Thanks for the response Jason.

Would there be any limits to the funding if I applied for a university in wales or Scotland? Or would they be funded like England universities?

Thanks

Hi there, there shouldn't be as you'd still be applying to Student Finance England for the funding. So where you study wouldn't impact your funding. Thanks, Jason

If you study in Wales or Scotland, you wouldn't be eligible for the annual training grant from the NHS Learning Support Fund.
