I'm applying for BA Journalism at Uni of Sheffield, Uni of Leeds, City University of London, Newcastle Uni, and Leeds Trinity University. I would like to study MA Broadcast Journalism and become a major broadcaster in London or overseas in the future, and my predicted grades are A*AA. I'm leaning towards Sheffield for my firm, and then studying at City for postgraduate. I'm wondering if this is a good plan.
Sheffield offers the NCTJ and PPA accredications at undergrad (I don't really care about the PPA tbh) and those are excellent when pursuing a career in journalism, but most people stop once they're accredicated and apply for jobs. I want to do my masters at City because it immediately puts me in London, where I want to work, and its postgraduate course has been considered Oxbridge-level. The course is also focused on broadcast journalism specifcally, employability rates after graduation are extremely high, and the internships/job opportunities will be nearby for after I graduate, so once I do get a full-time job as a broadcaster I would have already gotten used to the city. Is this a good plan or not?
