Housing or transport?

I live in leicestershire and hoping to attend lincoln university, housing is an option or i could get the bus and then the train which would be around 2hrs and 30 minutes. The train is much cheaper than housing especially if im only in 2-3 days, earliest i can get in for is 930 unless i am driven to the train station. I cant decide which option is the best. I am applying for fine art so i wont just have a lecture for an hour and then have to go home but maybe il be tired from a nearly 3 hours journey everyday? Any opinions? Thanks.

for first year get housing, you want to focus on making friends and your course rather than travelling. then for your second year you can commute if you prefer.
