BTEC level 3. applying for work experience

i am currently in level 3 year 1 of my applied science btec course, during a one to one i had with a teacher i discussed work experience. she said it’s crucial that i get a placement, since it will boost my CV and UCAS applications, especially if i can gain work experience within the field i want to work within. i’m aiming to do a biomedical science course at university. i emailed a local clinical trial/drug development company in my area, to receive no response.

i have asked my friends about what they are planning on doing, and they said working in banks or just random shops within the town. i personally do not think that would be beneficial, and i am looking to gain work experience which will further benefit me in the future.

does anyone know of how to approach companies for work experience, maybe i approached within the wrong way (company was quotient sciences), or any companies which may offer work experience.

Am in my first year also.
I called lots of different pharmacies in my local area.
Asking for work experience and one of them was able to offer, I would advise you to call them because they take a lot of time to check their emails.
