I need advice on whereto start an application

I am 19 year sold, have been in the UK permanently for 4 years now as a Swiss national. I have officially immigrated to the UK. I have passed all my schooling but would like to now look at studying further. I can only do this if i get a loan to pay for it but i have no idea where to start.
Please can someone assist me.

Hi there, when does your course begin and is it an undergraduate course? Thanks, Jason

Hi Jason, it's an undergrad course for my daughter and she's missed Jan reg so she would look at Sept reg as far as I'm aware. I just want to assist her in application for the student loan to sign up for the course.

Hi there. What is your daughters current status in the UK under the Home Office? Thanks, Leah.

She would be pre-settled status.

We immigrated over 4 years ago. So at the end of 2025 we apply for settled status or indefinite right to remain.

So, does she currently hold pre-settle status? Thanks, Leah.

Yes she has for 4 years now

Hi there,

Thanks - according to our rules, since your daughter is the child of a Swiss national she should be eligible for funding from us.

So, based on this she'll be fine to apply for a Tuition Fee Loan from us, but she may also be eligible for the Maintenance Loan.

The 25/26 applications will be available online this Spring. So, when they open we'd recommend that she apply as soon as possible and we'll be able to tell her exactly what she's entitled to.

Thanks, Graeme

Omw that is so helpful thank you so much. Any idea what date more or less we should contact you about the application. I can't afford for her to miss the chance.

Yes, last year it was the beginning of March. So, it's likely that it will be a similar date this year, though we don't have an exact date yet.

The moment they do your daughter's account will show that they're available.

Thanks, Graeme

Ok wonderful Graeme, thank you. One last question? How do I change the username on this account so my daughter can take it over as I only opened it to get this information for her but think she can run with it after we have done the application. 🙏

Yes, exactly - once she applies your daughter's account will tell her exactly what's happened, and it will show when the application is approved.

Thanks, Graeme

Cool but just checking that's in March. We mustn't follow that link now to apply? Sorry if I'm asking stupid questions but I've never done this before so all new to us.

That's no problem.

Just to clarify, if she hasn't already done so your daughter can create an account here or login if she already has one: https://www.gov.uk/student-finance-register-login

She can do this now, even though the applications aren't open yet.

Then, when the applications open she'll be able to apply and check the progress online.

Thanks, Graeme

We registered my daughters info on the Gov Site but I still don't see any indication of applications being open yet or mention thereof. From where will be get a confirmation that we can apply? From you or the Gov site? Must we just keep checking the site everyday? Won't we be notified
