i'm pretty sure NOTHING cures hangovers

EDIT: although drinking water towards the end of the night helps to prevent them

NO

Studies have only shown that taking it long term can aid hepatocyte regeneration. It's taken to aid knocks against the liver, not as a quick-fix hangover cure.

Pop some Berocca in water and drink bucket loads of orange juice.

I rarely get hangovers, but when I do, ice cold diet coke does wonders. No idea why, it just makes me feel so much better.

It's worth noting that this link has only been shown in vitro. We're still not sure of its effects in vivo, let alone when it has to pass through the digestive system to get to the liver in the first place.

OP a hangover is simply an acute case of dehydration, and the only way to cure it is either to prevent it in the first place by drinking lots of water during your drinking session (and not drinking too much) or by drinking lots of rehydration fluids (something like Lucozade) followed by lots of water the following day. The best way to cure it is by inserting an IV saline drip but that's only available to the lucky few  An anti-inflammatory drug like paracetamol and ibuprofen will calm any side effects of dehydration like headaches etc, and something bland and fatty will soothe your stomach - that's why people often have a fry up the morning after a night out.

I have tried everything under the sun to cure some horrifically painful hangovers and milk thistle is the only thing that really works for me. Best 5 quid I've ever spent, it gets me to my 9 o'clock lectures in the morning. Have it before you go to bed or before you go out. I find it's better just before sleep.
It does work - it's not a myth!

I've heard homeopathy works.

Chug a liter of water before you go to bed, works for me.
