Work experience for year 1 University students

I'm in my first year at university for biomed and all the summer work experiences for companies are for year 2 and above. For anyone who did work experience in their first year, how did you get it?

Hi there!

I luckily got a research assistant position at my university to work with/for some of my lecturers! York St. John does lots of student internship summer programmes - it might be worth checking if your university does too!
