final degree classification

Hi, im trying to work out my overall final classification for my degree.

6. Marks will be arranged in a ‘cascade’ according to the following rules:

Band 3: Best 80 Level Three credits, given a weighting of 3.

Band 2: Next Best 80 Level Three and Level Two credits, with a weighting of 2.

Band 1: Remainder of Level Three and Two and any Level One credits taken in Part Two, with a weighting of 1

If i got an average of 50s in first year, 60s second year and 50-60 third year am i possibly looking at a 2;2 or a 2;1?

Thanks

Hi there! Have you reached out to your personal tutor at all? They'll be able to help you further! You can find them on your Student Record (My courses -> Tutors & Course Reps)

Hope this helps

My money is on a 2.2 unless your worst 40 credits at level 3 were terrible and dragged your third year average right down.

(Thanks for the tag, @greg tony.)

First year won't count (unless you were taking any modules which really belonged to second year - which I suspect you won't.) Beyond that, the vagueness you've used ("60s" and "50-60") means that no-one will be able to give a precise answer. For example, "50-60 third year" could mean that there was one 20-credit module in which you scored 50, scoring 60 in the other 100. Or it could be the other way round (20 credits at 60 with 100 credits at 50).

However, based upon the information you're provided, I'd agree that you're looking at a 2:2 or a 2:1. (A 2:2 is more likely.)

If you're able to provide you score per module, and the size of each module (credits) - year two and three only - then we can work it out properly.
