Graphic communications

What does this subject at Alevel include and what is it good for??

I currently do textiles at gcse but don’t know many sixth forms and sixth forms colleges that do textiles so I am interested in doing another artistic subject.

In terms of what it includes, I think it follows the following specification:
https://www.aqa.org.uk/subjects/art-and-design/a-level/art-and-design-7203/specification/subject-content/summary-of-subject-content

What is it good for? In what sense? As in terms of degree applications?
If so, it's generally not a required subject. You might occasionally get asked for it in some art college or uni for some degree in art, design, or graphics. Otherwise, you don't really hear much of it.
The subjects that are requested by unis tend to be: maths, sciences, geography, history, English lit, classics, modern European languages, music. Otherwise, you don't really hear much of other subjects being asked for.

The A Level subjects that tend to be in the performing arts and design are:

Art and Design

Drama

Dance

Design and Textiles

Drama and Theatre

Fashion and Textiles

Film studies

Music

Music Technology

Performing Arts

Product Design

Many of the above are uncommonly taught at 6th form and the more usual ones tend to be in Art and Design, Music, and FiIm. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Advanced_Level_subjects

There is no job that would ever ask for A Levels in creative subjects post college.

Your prospective employers would typically ask for A Levels specifically in Maths or any of the 3 sciences for degree apprenticeships as far as I know. These would typically in actuarial science or something STEM related. Otherwise, I have yet to come across a single job that would ever ask for A Levels in creative subjects.

Most jobs in the creative space only requires you to have the creative ability to do the job. Usually no prior qualifications would matter. You can for example flunk your GCSEs and still manage to score a job as a designer if you are good enough (in theory). See the following for example:

https://life-pilot.co.uk/job-sectors/arts-crafts/job-profiles

The only role in the creative space in industry that would require degrees would be architecture. Otherwise, you would need a degree to teach a creative subject at school, college, or uni.
