Distance Learning Course for access to HE

Hi all! I’m 21 years old and dropped out of an undergrad course at the University of Sheffield last November.
With my UCAS application in review for acceptance to KCL, I was wondering if it’s realistic of me to think I could complete an Access to HE course (online) in time for September ‘25.
Has anyone completed an access course online? If so how long did it take to complete, and which website did you use? I don’t have many commitments other than part time work at the moment.
Thanks for reading, any advice would be much appreciated

October - May. You can speed through on if someone wants I guess.

Many should accept the advanced learner loan.

Why do you want to do one? Do you need it for entry to uni?

No, my A level grades are sufficient. I just haven’t been in education for three years so worried I’ll be out of practice in September!

I really would not worry about it. That should be OK for the majority of universities.

Hello, I've taught on Access to HE for over 10 years.

If your A level qualifications are enough to get you in, there isn't much point in you doing Access to HE (it would look a little strange to the admissions tutor). If you did Access to HE, you would need to take out an Advanced Learner Loan as you have used up your level 3 entitlement. It is true, that uniquely for Access this loan would be written off once you complete your degree, but this is unnecessary bureaucracy you don't need.

there are some great short courses out there which are much cheaper, many of them free on the Open University website which might help you get back into study mode.

Hi There. I did a history access course in 7 months but it was very intense. In some ways I found the course more demanding than my A levels but enjoyable. So it can be done I did mine online and had great tutors.
