i would deffo go maths, opens more courses, u don't need econ to do it later, but maths is useful for so many careers and other options. imo, GO MATHS!!

Do maths, I do both although i find maths harder, i do like it more as when you know what to do it is a breeze in the park but that takes practice. It also opens more doors.

Thanks for the quick reply! Just curious how difficult you find a level maths - what did you achieve in gcse and what are you expecting to get in a levels?

i am actually in year 11 rn, my predicted for gcse is a nine, i got 79/80 on paper 1 75/80 paper 2 and 76/80 paper3.

our school does additional maths which is basically the same as the first year of a-level maths, and honestly, its not as hard as you think, if u pay attention in class, go home and do some quick questions to solidify your understanding you should be fine.

I don't consider myself 'really good' or clever, i literally just SPAM questions, i do so loads, because questions are the only way to revise maths imo. for a-level i wanna take maths, further maths, physics geo, so very maths related

Maths is definitely easier imo, i did both at a level and econ you have to a lot more independent work and research for case studies and to be able to write essays (which obviously you dont have to do in maths)

I got an 8 at GCSE and got an A at Alevel. The jump was surprisingly okay as long as you keep on top of the work from the beginning of the year. Best way to learn is just do loads of practice questions, that really helped me.

I can't compare these two subject at this grade, I have only taken mathematics. Despite this be sure: it is demanding.

I do both and I think maths definitely opens more doors. They’re my 2 easier a levels but by no means easy.
I did well in maths and essay based GCSEs and do equally well in them as a levels, but I find economics more interesting . It depends on which you like more(which will help you do better) and whether you’re stronger in stem or essay based subjects.
I would choose maths though, econ is far less useful for university prep unless you’re super interested in economics (in which case maths is still more important).
