Which one is better for exchange program? York ST John or Hertfordshire?

I'm going to go to UK's university next semester. And I'm struggling with York ST John university and University of Hertfordshire.
Because when I saw review of them, York ST John is tourist city has lots of things to do and I heard that there are lots of club and events for exchange students. But it takes 2-3 hours to go to any big city like London or Manchester.
And University of Hertfordshire is in countryside so that there aren't lots of things to do in town. And I can't be sure but I heard they don't have various club or school events. But it's very close to London about 1hour.
Both have advantages and disadvantages so it's hard to decide. I'm sorry if there are information that's not true and please let me know which university would be better for exchange students! I plan to stay for a year. And I'm still improving English, so there might be words that don't fit the context 😳
Go for YorkSJ. You’ll have a much better experience of the UK and the variety.

Herts is a good university but it’s not known for its student experience and you’d be studying alongside a lot of commuter students. The UK is about so much more than London - picking a university just because it’s not far from London is a silly priority.

Hi there!

I'm a student at York St. John currently, and I really recommend it! Like you said, York is a really beautiful city, with lots to do. London is about 2.5 hours away directly via train, and its a really easy commute if seeing London is a priority! There are no changeovers on the train, we're a 30-minute train ride from Leeds (usually costs around £3 either way), and 1.5 hours from Manchester via train too!

We have a dedicated team for international/exchange students, called the Global Campus team. If you have any questions about studying at YSJ, you can get in contact with them! (Global Campus Website)

Hope this helps🤗
