Should i take hnc computing or advh computing science?

im struggling to decide between the two. my local college is offering both as a course to all s6's in the area, including mine, but the advh is all online whereas hnc is in person. but which would be better for admissions for cybersecurity-related uni courses? any help appreciated!

Looking into the HNC course spec it appears to be much more practical and focused on the software engineering aspect of computer science, compared to Advanced Higher. However, they are both quite practical subjects. There is a project side of Advanced Higher which is worth more marks than the final exam. In fact, you could probably ace the project and get an A even if you bomb the exam.

In terms of cyber security, I would probably go for the HNC. In Advanced Higher, the security aspect isn't really in-depth. I would assume that considering how practical the HNC would be, it should go over cybersecurity practices much more in detail.

Also, you mentioned that the Advanced Higher is all online - this could be an issue if you don't have a computer/laptop at home because developing your project will require them. You could work on it at school but personally, it is much faster to do it at home as well.
