Maintenance loan

Hi

I am currently working full time and earning, however I have just been offered to complete my teacher training in September un-salaried.

My husband only earns £12000 a year but would the maintenance loan take in what I earnt before I started training?

Hi there. We only take taxable unearned income into account for students. For example: Income that will be taken into account

Bank or Building Society Gross Interest

Property Lettings or Rent

Dividends from investments/shares/unit trusts

Trusts or Sponsorships

Pensions (any tax free lump sum amount will not be taken into account)

Payment from their employer who has released them to attend their course (employer release)

Any other payment received for attending the course (This does not include University Bursaries)

We don't take income from your employment into account for students, so If you don't have any of the above we will only use your husbands income. Thanks, Leah.
