Driving and future employability

Hello! I'm currently doing the first year of my A-levels and I plan to work in therapy (most likely CBT). Currently, I do not want to drive, mainly due to fear surrounding it and also preferring public transport as it's better for the environment. However, I brought this up with a friend earlier today and she said that employers may not want to hire you if you take public transport because it means you're unreliable with your punctuality. This has worried me a little bit and I'd like some other points of view. I can answer any other questions if needed! Thank you.

Only an issue if the job is based somewhere where there is little to no public transport, e.g. a power station or manufacturing facility out in the countryside, or if you have to travel regularly during working ours, e.g. in some salespeople. If driving is required or relevant for the job it'll say on the job description or application form.
