UCAS : Can my referee be my private Maths tutor ?

Hi,
I'm finishing applications on UCAS.
I just wanted to ask if I can use my private Maths tutor as my UCAS Referee.

Thanks.

Yes, but are you applying independently or through your sixth form?

Through sixth-form.
I have my tutor on weekends, mostly.

And he has helped me with UCAS, ESAT, preparing for exams.

It would be more appropriate for your sixth form to be your referee, unless you're solely just using them for the application and aren't having lessons within the sixth form.

Your sixth form would be able to talk about you broadly (all three/four subjects + anything else), compared to your tutor who could only talk about you from a maths perspective (and any other thing you tell them/they find out about you).

Your tutor can't predict you for your other subjects, only maths.
