Fashion communication at Kingston

Seeing the guardians ranking on fashion and textiles i noticed that kingston is ranked fairly highly. I've been offered an uncoditional offer to study fashion comms and i was wondering how good the connections are at kingston, as well as any other factors like facilities

Hey there 🙂, I am currently in my placement year at Kingston BA Fashion and have really enjoyed the wonderful open access facilities that uni has to offer (eg. darkroom and print making facilities .. ). Kingston has quite a strong placement team and I found my design placements through connections at uni 🤗 We are having an Offer Holder Day on the 8th of March and I suggest going to get a better sense of the facilities and vibe here at Kingston! Feel free to ask me any questions about life in Kingston.

Hi,

Congratulation on your offer!

Just thought I would add to what Zhi En said as I am currently studying fashion comms here at Kingston, I'm in my second year.

What I personally like is that all the lectures have had lots of experience in industry with some of them currently working in the industry alongside teaching, so they themselves have connections and are always giving us advice and letting us know when great events and exhibitions are happening.

In terms of placements they also keep us very updated with what they find, as well as the careers team also sending us lots of opportunities.

In first year there is a project where you create a campaign for a brand and the brand sends us the clothing to use for the photoshoots. For my year we did it for the brands ECKE FAEI and Rakshamasha and this year they have new brands. You can find out more about what we are doing over on the Instagram @ku_fpc

Also for my projects this year the lectures have been working to get great guest lecturers in and brands that we are doing projects for so we can pitch to them.

I have a few other posts that I will link that will give you some more insight into the course:

I hope this helps and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask
