Completing my Access to HE Diploma with limited time.

Hi all, I have returned to study an access course with Distance Learning Centre. My final submission is due in May in order to be eligible for September 2025 intake.
The issue is, I have only JUST began my study skills section which consists of Interview & Application topics, Academic Writing topics and a Numeracy topic. Ahead of this I have Biology, Psychology and Social Issues to complete.

I cannot help but feel like I am not going to complete this on time and it fills me with a sense of dread and failure.
Has anyone completed an online access course in a short time? I need a miracle.

If you already have plenty of knowledge you should be fine. But an access course (corretlyif I'm wong) you can only do once... And if you fail it means that you fail one module, it means that you fail the whole course unfortunately. So if you dont think you can do the workon time, consider telling your institution so that they can support you. DO NOT just leave. Trust me

I'm in the same position but try to stay optimistic and focus on your goal. I work full time, have kids and have told everyone that they will not see me or get timely replies to messages - I'm studying! Set a planner with deadlines that you can realistically achieve but try to set them as soon as possible (before any advised dates). Get your reference done for your UCAS application as soon as you can because unis will still look at it even if you don't have your predicted grades yet. Good luck to both of us
I’m not sure how many modules you have, what grades you need to achieve, or what your background is. However, with enough motivation and a rigorous timetable, anything is possible.

You have 4 months (125 days) to complete the course. While it’s challenging, proper time management should make it achievable. You’ll need to stick to a strict schedule—for example, if you have 20 modules, you would need to submit an assignment approximately every 6 days.

Hey, just wanted to say I’m glad I found your post as I’m in exactly the same position as you. I’ll be starting my Access to HE course tomorrow, which includes 33 Biology credits and 18 Psychology credits. I’m looking to finish in time for moderation in May/June. I’m planning to study roughly 5-6 hours daily, with one or two days off per week. I’m not quite sure what to expect from the course, but I’ve done as much prior research as I can. I definitely think it’s doable in 4 months with the right motivation. For me that motivation is that I want to go to university in September 2025 rather than wait another year.

Hopefully some more people with experience completing the Access to HE course can comment, as any advice or tips would be helpful.
