Is it possible to do a placement and 3rd year together?

Hi Is it possible to do a placement and 3rd year together?

So from: Y1, Y2, Placement, Y3 = 4yrs
It's Y1, Y2, Placement/Y3 = 3yrs

Would a university allow that?
Doing a placement and year 3 studies together to save a year time.

probably not but I'm just guessing
i think some unis have a masters/placement year all in one so for 4 years you get a year in industry as well as a masters degree

You can’t work full time and also study full time at the same time for a year.

I am not aware of any courses that offer this option. Have you considered summer internships, as then you still get work experience but also finish university in 3 years.

Hi there,

Unfortunately it isn't possible to do a placement year alongside your 3rd year of University - they are both full time so cannot be accomplished together.

A placement year usually involves full time work with a company - most likely Monday to Friday 9-5 type of hours, making it impossible to attend University for your final year, even if your course would only be in 2 days a week or so.

A more suitable idea would to be doing a part time internship if you can find one, or trying to find summer placements (then tend to last either 4-6 weeks or up to 3 month contracts and can be either paid or voluntary).
