Uni Lincoln and Leeds

Hi,
I’m currently receiving offers to go to university this September. I’m torn between Univeristy of Lincoln and Leeds Beckett university. I currently take a levels and an estimated to get 112 points. Can anyone tell me what the law and criminology course is like at either of them to give me a better idea?

Hi, mainly just what the city life is like and whether the teachers are actually motivational to make you wanna do your work. I personally struggle with things like reaching deadlines and asking for help so anything to do with that would be great! Thank you!

Firstly, all degrees focus on independent learning. You won't be pushed to do more or better. If you want help you will get it but only after you have shown you have researched and hit a wall. You won't get extra time for deadlines just because you can't meet them. You need to motivate yourself at uni. Ask yourself, what do you want from it? You won't have time for a social life on a law degree. At Lincoln reading is an imperative. They give you your reading lists with each seminar and you will have to discuss them. Case notes won't be enough. You'll have text book reading and journal reading. Lecturers know the law inside out. They immediately know how much or little you have done with your reading. It's not a party.
The city itself is lovely not much in the way of a night life but I didn't have much of an appetite for it had too much reading and regardless of my best efforts I still finished with an upper 2:1, I was gutted. Lecturers are fantastic and approachable. I don't expect Leeds will be any different only that if it's the University of Leeds, you will be at a RG and more will be expected of you. If it's Leeds Beckett, it will most likely be similar to Lincoln.
