2nd year Biology transfer

Hello.

So I've been out of education for some years now. I completed two years of a Biology degree at one institution and have now applied for a degree elsewhere - Biology and Biomedicine courses. I applied through advanced entry into 2nd year for both. I was worried they wouldn't accept me in third year.

So my question is since they've asked for my module specs of my previous degree, is it possible that they could say there's a lot of module overlap in 2nd year so I'd only have to do a few "top up" modules, this would be the case for biomedicine especially. I hope this is clear. I really don't mind doing the year again but I'm worried about student finance. When I left uni for the first time I was already in third year, so that's eaten up into my student finance fees (about 2000).

For Biology, I know that there's a complete overlap of modules, is it possible they would tell me that I could start in 3rd year?

Just wanted to share my thoughts, please share what you think.

If you started year 3 of your previous degree then that will count as a full year of previous study for tuition fee entitlement.

Did you have any compelling personal reasons for leaving your previous degree? If you can provide SFE will a letter from your previous university or a doctor or counsellor or similar professional explaining that compelling personal reasons led to you leaving your course then SFE are likely to disregard that year of previous study.

If you don’t have CPR then only year 3 of a new degree will be eligible for a tuition fee loan.

Universities are generally unlikely to apply APEL/RPEL to parts of a year.

Oh, I understand. I will provide a letter to SFE, if it's not accepted I can always pay out of pocket. Thanks for the advice.
