Hey, im a scottish s6 (year 13 eqivelant)student and im doing handmaids tale in my class, Im not quite sure what is expected for you to do but what I have done to revise the book is:

Writing chapter summaries for each chapter so you know what is happening and it is relatively easy to explain context behind the quote.

Seperating quotes in like different subject areas (relationship, setting, character and narrative) and then for themes (rebellion, hope etc) like making a Microsoft word table and labeling one side with the quote and the other with your analysis of the quote, it's better if you can find quotes that can be analysed in more than one context, for example a quote that can be linked to relationships, and rebellions or setting. i then converted these into mindmaps and hung them up on my wall so I was looking at them a lot.

I don't know if you have to do a comparative essay or what you have to do essay wise but I take some time in the exam to make a rough plan. I pick my question and them I make a plan on some scrap paper for each paragraph, very rough though, don't spend too much time on it.
Para 1 (Scene + quotes) - Para 2 (scene + quotes)... ectera
I find it helps me a lot because after I've made a plan I don't have to stress about what I'm going to write about or remembering quotes as I have them all written down in my rough plan.

Pray to some Edexcel god. Last year left me mentally unstable. (this is just a joke btw) Honestly can’t add anything else, since the previous comment basically said everything I could say. One thing that I can say is start revising asap, believe me when I say that year 12 is not too early. And don’t stop the revision during the summer. Maybe not as intensely, but refresh your memory every now and then. Speed and good essay structures are key to high marks, so the factual information should be ingrained into your brain. Good luck on your exams!!
