Complicated living situation

Hi all,

My ex is a mature student and we have 2 kids under 3, we’re both over 25

Due to a change of circumstances I’m looking to move back into the house to be with the kids more but we’re still separated, separate bedrooms etc.

We’re worried that I will affect her student finance income as I won’t be supporting her financially in any way due to the separation, but if my income is taken into consideration then she’ll only get the basic contributions from SF, I’ll just be continuing my current contributions to the kids so she couldn’t afford to live on the money she would have coming in

Can anyone advise on the best way to move forward with this?

Thanks

J

Hi there,

Your ex can still be classed as separate even if you do live together they would need to provide evidence that you have separated and you can also write a cover letter explaining the situation and that you are still separated. It would be looked at on a case by case basis.

Thanks, Drew
