Any news on receiving funding?

Still no news, sadly.

What I received was a notification of rejection from the admin on the 7th of April. I think there’s a good chance that you’re still in the running. All the best!

Thank you for the information! I can't believe they are this slow😂

Does anyone know the approximate proportion of people from this course who actually receive DPhil funding? I would assume that no news up until now can’t be promising.

They mentioned in the initial application posts that they expect to fund 6 places.

Is that the departmental scholarships only do you know? Or is Clarendon included in this?

No clue, but this is what it said on the FindmyPhD advert for the project.

There are 6 different scholarships listed on the section for funding the DPhil in Bio (https://www.biology.ox.ac.uk/dphil#collapse3153061). However, last year they gave out 4 Clarendon awards for DPhil Bio, so I am unsure if these correlate directly with those 6 funded places mentioned.

I think the Clarendon awards are generally used to further the value of departmental scholarships, and most of those for this year seem to have been awarded already so I think college-based or other unlisted ones are really the only ones we can hope for

Has anyone else received a Clarendon? Or any departmental or college funding?
I was rejected by Jardine Scholarship and getting more and more anxious😂

Linacre College hasn't given me any funding for now. They said they will release all their funding by the end of May. I'm wondering whether other colleges have already released their funding, or if all colleges are as slow as Linacre.

Well, what I'm actually worried about is whether I still have chance of getting funding. My supervisor started to seem quite pessimistic after hearing that I was rejected by the Jardine Scholarship.

By the way, my supervisor reached out to the graduate office, and they said:

"The University will still be making decisions on central university managed scholarships until the end of June, but these are becoming fewer in number, they will have different eligibility criteria, and not all will be full scholarships. At this stage in the process we encourage all offer holders to actively seek funding from external sources wherever possible."

This makes me feel hopeless😭

Has anyone received funding from their college? I think realistically at this point no news is bad news - they did say end of June but I guess the actual number of graduate students who get funded (especially international) is pretty low anyway…

I received an email saying I’ve fulfilled the conditions of my offer - does this mean I will no longer be considered for funding?

Hey I did apply on the 18th but haven’t heard from them yet (said it’ll take them 30 working days to process).

Congratulations! See you around Oxford!

Hey! Has anyone received a letter from the bio department regarding enrolment/confirming all conditions have been met? I was told by my college I would be sent one, but haven’t received anything as of yet.
