sociology a-level help pls

Hello, wanted some help from people who do alevel aqa sociology. I need to pick my optional topics as im self-study and am paying for the exams myself. I've been informed that the easiest and most straight-forward topics are family + households and media, however, family + households is an entire chapter whilst the other topics are just small sub-topics, so wouldn't it be best to choose the shortest topic? As if I don't choose family + households, there's an entire chapter I wouldn't have to study? And if family and households is the longest, which is a better option to choose from the first bunch of optional topics? Help would be appreciated thank you.

I was gonna say aswell media and family/households is the easiest and what I’m going to do as I’m paying aswell. I think family and households is more easier even tho it is an entire chapter its more common knowledge if that makes sense. What are you thinking of doing?

i think that’s what i’m going to choose but i’ve just been informed that family and households is the only optional topic in book 1 so i wonder if the same is for media. i thought the rest were just subtopics and that’s why i wasn’t finding them.

Hi, I’m doing the exact same thing. I’m self studying with paying for my own exam. I’ve decided to family and media as I find that’s where the internet and textbooks have the most information on. It might be worth looking at what resources you can find in most depth for too marks rather this whats easiest. For example, there would be no point doing ur topic on beliefs in society if it was the easiest and there was little resources, it would make sense to do a slightly harder topic that has the most detailed resources.
