Staff member has reported me for bullying HELP

I am a 2nd year law student and have been reported by a module leader/marker of my assignment for ‘bullying and harassment’. I sent an email on Tuesday after receiving my mark asking for more clarification. One of the things in my feedback was a reference I did wrong but I proved in the email I actually just followed the PowerPoint slides.

Anyway the email was formal, there was no swear words, anything rude etc. she replied formally referring me to the appeals process but didn’t mention me being ‘rude’, didn’t seem upset, didn’t say I was unprofessional and she often did to others.

I opened my emails today and see a formal complaint has been lodged against me alleging I have ‘harassed and bullied’ a member of staff. I only sent one email which automatically cancels out harassment but the bullying is ridiculous. I am so stressed and scared and need any advice I can get. I also don’t know how to find an advocate / ‘friend’ at the uni to come to the meeting
Are you sure that the allegation relates to this one interaction?
Speak to your student union - they can advise you on the process and I imagine should be able to find someone to go with you as an advocate?

Hi,

I would recommend speaking to your academic tutor or student union advisor, they may be able to provide more insight. If the complaint is referring to this incident, I would not worry too much as there is evidence of exactly what you have said.

Hope this helps! Faye 🙂
