Funding

Hi, I've been in the UK for 3 years but I don't qualify for tuition fees in England as I need ILR. But If I apply to Edinburgh in Scotland, I will be charged an England fee rate as said on the website. https://registryservices.ed.ac.uk/tuition-fees/fee-status/work-out/overseas-nationals-in-uk . So would SFE fund me (a non UK national whose been here 3 years) for a uni in Scotland?

Hi there,

How long have you lived in the England and what is your nationality? Do you have limited leave to remain and how old are you? When would your course start? When would you move to Scotland and would it be for the purpose of study?

Thanks, Drew

Hi there,

Thanks, just to check, is it an undergraduate or postgraduate course that you'll be studying in Scotland?

Thanks, Graeme

Okay, thanks - based on what you've said you won't be entitled to any funding from us, unfortunately. We can only fund courses in Scotland if you have Indefinite Leave to Remain or Settled Status.

However, the Scottish Awards Agency SAAS may be able to offer you funding instead, so we'd suggest asking them.

Thanks, Graeme
