If forced withdrawel threw illness due to OH health can you do another course in september doing something else if cannot pursue 1st option due to health also student maintanence hows that work as only half way threw 1st ever degree had no other funding ? I know thier is also a hardship fund for illness if forced to leave the course for 60 days for sfe and also would i have to pay tution fee loan as forced to leave 1st year also could i possibly keep student finance for another 4 years or is it adjusted to three not sure as forced into leaving due to health ? but this may not happen just taking precautions to know where i stand if case,

Hi there,

If you are to withdraw you would not get 60 days of extra funding for health reasons. You would only get this is you suspended your studies. The university would tell us how much Tuition Fee Loan they were charging you if you were to withdraw from the course. Do you only have 1 year of previous study?

Thanks, Drew

Hi there,

You’re entitled to funding for the length of your course, plus 1 additional year, minus any years of previous study you have. Here’s the calculation we used: 4+1-1=4 years of funding left.

Thanks, Drew

Hi there,

Just to check, are you asking in terms of full-time study? Is your new course going to be full-time as well?

Thanks, Graeme

it would be yes if forced into another degree option due to illness would i still be able to repeat the year or would i have only 3 years funding left as i have done 6 months already before suspension or 4 years funding hypotheical wise? this may not happen anyway just checking it out thank you.

Hi there, for any year which you have received payments (tuition or maintenance loan) this will be classed as a year used from your entitlement. However, certain Adult nursing courses can be an exception course, where we do not include any of your previous study when assessing the application. As for the A.I., Quantum Physics or Biomedical Science courses, these courses would take in to consideration any previous study used. Thanks, Stephen.
