Help please (options )

So currently, I'm in s5 doing 4 highers.

I'm trying to decide on my s6 options right now and was wondering if it would be better to do 3 more highers this year or 2 advanced highers and an additional higher as well.

I'm not sure fully sure what I would like to do in the future, but I have a few ideas.

If I'm thinking of applying to university's such as Glasgow, Strathclyde, Edinburgh, would they value 2 advanced highers and a higher over another 3 highers? Or would it just be the same .

Thank you. I hope this makes sense

if you’re comfortable doing the two adv highers and one higher i’d recommend that because you get way more ucas points from them than highers, i think a D at ah is the same as a B at higher. Ultimately check the entry requirements of the courses you’d want to do.

I’d personally email a couple of the unis you are interested in to get their thoughts. When I was at your stage unis actually preferred more highers than AH as many of the Scottish uni’s don’t use UCAS points. I’d check some courses you are interested in to see if they mention AH, some ie medicine will
Require AH but many don’t. I took 4 highers & 1 nat 5 in s5 and took 3 highers & 1AH in s6. Only you can decide but I would personally check uni websites and email admissions if still unsure.
