which a levels for oxbridge law ?

i can’t choose which a levels to pick. i really want to get into oxbridge law - even if there aren’t necessarily any requirements, which ones are reccomended ? i don’t really mind any subject and i like both stem and essay subjects, however i don’t like languages.

Take any three subjects which you enjoy and are likely to do well in. There are no required subjects. History, English, politics, and economics are all useful, as are STEM subjects.

Pick the subjects that you like the best and think you will get the best grades in.

What is your predicted or achieved grade in GCSE French? or GCSE German? or GCSE Spanish?

A-Level languages are not too difficult but require effort. 🙂

Whichever subjects you are likely to get the best grades in as long as you include a couple of essay subjects to demonstrate that you can cope with the writing demands of law.

I would do more essay-based subjects if I were you. You’ll have to write a lot of essays doing law at Oxbridge. Good to get a bit of practice in. Ultimately, though, you shouldn’t do any subjects you don’t genuinely like. That might make it harder for you to get the grades you need

For Law applicants, Cambridge like English, History, and Languages. If you're not planning on working abroad and weren't planning on/wanting to study Languages, don't as you might not enjoy it and might not hit the required grade.

Oxford are less prescriptive about requirements for Law. They require at least one subject that involves essays. If you are choosing the Study Abroad option, they also require a Modern Language e.g French, German, Italian, Spanish.

hey i got a cambridge offer for law and i do maths history and art, so as long as you have 2 “traditional” subjects (pretty sure cambridge have a list on their website) then you should be fine- i got told on more than one occasion they wouldn’t accept art but that’s clearly false! so just do what you think you can get a good grade in
