Bad GCSE’s, can I still go KCL?

Hii I’m in year 12 and have been thinking about studying Classics and Ancient history BA at King’s but when I was doing my GCSEs I didn’t think I wanted to go uni and ended up with average grades of 5,7,7,4,8,5,6,5 and 8(short course).

I looked at the website and they don’t specify exact grades at GCSE for this course so if I meet the A-level grade requirements and have a good personal statement would I have a chance of getting in since the course isn’t as competitive as STEM courses?
Thanks!😅

Your GCSE grades are fine. Check the course page - most courses will require GCSE maths and English at a certain grade and then other subjects will be specified if they are required for the course.

Was in the exact same position as you, I got 7766665554 at GCSE, I got my KCL offer within weeks of applying. Its possible
I have similar GCSE's and want to know how u found the application process because I really want to go Kings but I am uncertain about getting accepted.

Just make sure you got the predicted grades, King's have a high offer rate compared to other competitive universities.

They don't give a flying f*ck about your GCSEs unless you're applying to Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, or a competitive STEM/PPE course at a good university. I applied to KCL and got an offer of BBB, with AAB as my predicted grades at A-level. I got something like 886555 at GCSE - enough to get me into my sixth form (top ranked in my city), but they had NO impact on my university applications. I'm formerly homeschooled, but several of my friends did relatively poorly at GCSE, and yet still get plenty of offers from Cambridge, Bristol, UCL, St. Andrews, KCL, and the like. Classics and Ancient History won't be an oversubscribed course, so provided you get your predicted grades at A-level, you'll almost certainly get an offer. Good luck, but I'm sure you won't need it. <3
