Should I take advanced higher French??

So I wanna apply to med or dentistry this year. I was planning on taking advanced higher chemistry, biology and maths.

But Im sure I’ve failed my maths prelim so I won’t be allowed to take the subject to advanced higher.

My other option is French but I’d have to do half online and the other half at a partner school as mine doesn’t offer it.

Is advanced higher French difficult? And is it worth it to travel for that class? (The school is a 10 min bus away)

I’d still be doing biology and chemistry at my school.

All Scottish uni's only ask for 2 advanced highers and one other higher in their conditional, so there isn't much point in taking 3 unless you intend to apply to top English uni's, in which case you should research their Scottish requirements.

If I were in your shoes, and I am, I would take Biology and Chemistry and just choose a higher I know I'll get an easy A in (for me that is psychology) as both of us will be so busy with volunteering, interview prep, personal statement, work experience etc. in the coming academic year to worry about 3 AH, especially one your school doesn't even teach.

If you aren't sure you can get an A in the subject, you shouldn't take it. The only thing your grades for medicine/dentistry matter is that you have them, they don't consider them past that. What really matters is your UCAT, personal statement (depending on uni) and your performance in interview (which you will obviously need work experience and volunteering to talk about in)

Best of luck to you. If you have any more questions, I can try my best to answer them.
