I need help with my English lit coursework, books and resources

My exam board is edexcel and I’m really struggling to understand the literature coursework. I have no idea where to go for resources or what books to choose or what they’re looking for to get me top marks. I’ve been thinking about comparing the virgin suicides to something or doing 1984 and a brave new world or something dystopian that reflects society but I don’t have any resources to help with any of this and I don’t know where to go. PLEASE HELP ME.

For resources on the books, I would try finding some articles online. idk if your school has subscriptions to any internet archives but i would try jstor. I think you can read some stuff on there for free. Also, youtube videos on the books can be a good starting point for getting a better understanding of themes. Or just typing in the name of the book then 'articles' into google should give you a bunch of free stuff to read. I did aqa though so it might be a bit different. Also with books that have movie or stage adaptations you could bring those in as interpretations of the text.

Also, for the book picks i would choose books that have different context surrounding them, so different era, country, etc. This way you have something to compare between them - showing how a theme evolved over time/ is different due to the politics of a specific country or the gender of the author etc.

Good luck!
