Placement choices adult nursing

Can you request specific placements during a nursing course (standard Bsc, in Scotland if that makes a difference)? I want to work in A&E after I graduate and would love to get a relevant placement, I have A&E experience but only as an HCA/nursing assistant and I feel having a placement there as part of my degree would help me stand out on job applications. I know it's not guaranteed and obviously placements are dependent on what's available but can I state this as a preference and will they make some effort to accommodate it if possible? Thanks!

There is only one time you can request a placement: for your final placement. This is then only a request and is not guaranteed. Everything else is allocated by the university and you don't get a say in this unless there's very exceptional circumstances; "I don't fancy doing that" or "I'd rather go there" don't count at all. This goes for the entire UK.

Thanks! I'll put it in as a final placement request, I know it's not guaranteed and that's fine I'd just like to increase my chances of it's an option. And good lol, I'm not looking to get out of any other placements!

i know every uni does it differently, but all the interviews i've done, when i've asked they've said that they allow preferences but they obviously aren't guaranteed! good luck on your course☺️
